BCU UKCC Level 1 Paddlesports Coach

The UKCC Level 1 Coach course is the entry-level qualification for paddlesports coaches in the UK.

This is ProAdventure's flagship course, most of our repeat custom for instructor training comes from this course, and most of the candidates come back to us again and again for further training.

The UKCC Level 1 Coach course is all about teaching. It is 4 days of looking at managing groups, safety, skills, coaching tools and coaching styles. This course will educate and improve your coaching for any sport. You will be using both canoes and kayaks to help develop you as a rounded paddlesports instructor, but all the elements of the course apply to both single and paddle bladed disciplines, whether your background is in white water, expeditioning, sprint, marathon, slalom, polo or any other discipline the fundamentals from this course will improve your coaching.

This is a 4 day course combining both Training and Assessment. The pre-requisites for taking part are your BCU 2 Star Award (either 'new' generic award, or both 'old' awards in Kayak and Canoe) and Foundation Safety and Rescue Training (FSRT) qualification. The 2 Star award is not required if the coach is to be bank-based.
