Arbroath Coasteering Adventure

Wild coasteering on the East coast of Scotland.

Located just to the North of the heritage fishing town of Arbroath, this coasteering adventure will get you down in and amongst the best the Scottish coastline has to offer.

Featuring wild, open-water swimming, cliff jumping, cave exploring - and even blow holes - let Vertical Descent's expert guides show you just what's possible!

Open to children ages 8 and up, this coasteering adventure in Eastern Scotland is perfect fun for young and old adventurers alike.

Duration (Exact): You can expect to be with us for up to 3 hours; the canyoning itself will last between 2 and 3 hours.
Booking Availability: Vertical Descents run coasteering in Arbroath between April - October, every Thursday and at weekends. Sessions leave at 10am and 2pm. The minimum group size for a session is 2 so if you book solo you will be teamed up with others; after booking you will be contacted to arrange your session.
What You'll Need: All equipment is provided by the centre. We recommend you don't bring your own wetsuit, as coasteering involves a lot of climbing across rough surfaces that could cause damage. Just bring something to wear under a wetsuit (swimming clothing is advised), some old trainers, a towl and warm clothing to wear afterwards.
Ability Level Requirements: No previous coasteering experience is required, although you should be confident swimming in coastal water wearing a bouyancy aid, and jumping into water from reasonable heights (to get the most from the experience).
Physical Requirements: A sense of adventure is the key requirement! The Minimum age is 8, however the key criteria is whether the child fits into the smallest wetsuit size. Fitness is not critical, however coasteering is a physical activity, so expect a workout!
Instruction/Guiding Details: You will have a guide with you throughout this experience.
Getting There: Arbroath is best reached by car, there is plenty of parking available. The team can arrange transport from Edinburgh, Perth or Dundee if required; just ask when they contact you to confirm your booking.
