Coasteering in St Ives

Are you ready to take the plunge into the clearest water known in the UK?

You can experience being part of the amazing seascape surrounding St Ives by throwing yourself off the cliffs into these famous waters. The clear water and amazing rock formations create some of the most amazing coasteering in the St Ives area.

Less intense than some of the other coasteering routes in Cornwall, St Ives is perfect for families and those trying coasteering for the first time. It has all the elements to get your heartrate going, and with the resident seals and the regular sightings of dolphins, this half-day adventure makes for a really fun day out.

We provide you with the very best professional guiding, all the specialist equipment needed and one of the most exciting and exhilarating outdoor activities in St Ives.

All the features in the St Ives Coasteer Route are optional which makes it the perfect activity for mixed ability groups. Challenge yourself with 3 hours of fun, adventure and challenges - all enjoyed at your own pace.

Please note: Coasteering from Porthmeor Beach is subject to the tides, meaning booking times will vary.

Duration (Exact): Porthmeor Plunge - 2-3 Hours
Booking Availability: Vertical Descents run coasteering almost all year round; your adventure will start at either 9:30am, 1:30pm or 4:30pm (unless otherwise arranged). Speciifc times will be allocated to you when Vertical Descents confirm your booking.
What's Included: All guiding and specialist equipment is included in the price.
What You'll Need: You will need to bring something to wear under a wetsuit (swimming attire is best), some trainers (to get wet), a towel and warm clothes for afterwards. If you are booked on to full day trip please bring food and water for the day.
Ability Level Requirements: This adventure is open to all. No previous coasteering experience is required.
Physical Requirements: Age restrictions of 12 yrs or over do apply, however it is more dependent on whether the child fits into our smallest wetsuit and safety equipment. Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult. You do not need to be fit, however you do need to be physically and mentally able to be comfortable in this sort of outdoor environment.
Instruction/Guiding Details: You will have a guide with you throughout this experience.
Getting There: The meeting point is Porthmeor Beach car park, close to the town centre. Unless you are staying in St Ives, this experience is best reached by car; however St Ives is part of the First Great Western rail network and can also be reached from a number of towns in the region.
