Tandem Skydive

Looking for the easiest way to discover skydiving? Try this on for size!

Tandem skydiving allows you to experience all the exhilaration of freefall, without having to do any of the work! Simply turn up at your booked time, sit through the briefing, and an hour later you'll be on a one-way ticket 2.5 miles above the drop zone!

With an expert skydiver strapped and locked securely to your back (most have about 2000 jumps under their belt, so they tend to know what they're doing), you wait for the pilot to give the green light. Suddenly it comes, and for the first time you'll be flying with the doors open! Staring out into space (and normally a lovely, sunny day!), one by one your fellow skydivers will start disappearing until your instructor motions you to the door. You look down at the world below, your legs hanging in the breeze above it all, wait for the tap on the shoulder that signals GO TIME, and suddenly you find yourself soaring across the sky!

We don't know anyone who did a tandem skydive and regretted it, so if you're even slightly tempted, take the plunge, hit that book button and get ready for one of the most intense, amazing experiences you can possibly imagine.

If you're feeling braver still - or think skydiving might be something you'll like to do regularly as a sport - we'd recommend considering a static line first jump lesson or accelerated freefall course instead. Just remember, if you do that your first jump will be solo!

Duration (Exact): Expect to be at the skydive centre for between 2 and 3 hours.
Booking Availability: The centre is open seven days a week, almost 365 days a year. Tandems can be booked for any day of the week.
What You'll Need: All equipment is provided by Skydive Langar, however we'd advise wearing full-length trousers and top (it can get cold above 10,000ft) and some sturdy footwear. Those with long hair should bring a hair tie.
Ability Level Requirements: No previous skydiving experience is required. A good head for heights is beneficial (but not essential)!
Physical Requirements: The minimum age of jumpers is 16, and under 18s must provide a signed copy of Form F106. Over 40s or those suffering from certain medical conditions must provide approval from their Doctor - Form 115. The maximum weight limit for jumpers is 15 Stone/95kg, and they must not be significantly overweight.
Instruction/Guiding Details: You will be jumping strapped to a professional instructor, often with over 5000 jumps to their name.
Getting There: Langar Airfield is 12 miles South East of Nottingham and 5 miles South of Bingham on the border of Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. The Airfield is between the villages of Langar and Harby, and The Parachute School is located in the Control Tower building on the Airfield. There is a bus service from Nottingham, however the centre is best reached by car.
