These AWESOME weekends away are perfect whether you are looking to learn to surf, or are already a pro surfer.
The trips are especially designed so that you don’t need to take any holiday days from work and you can still completely escape the rat race and let your hair down in a truly beautiful part of the world with some excellent people.
We run these trips with the help of the ridiculously good bunch of guys and gals at KingSurf surf school.
We head to a little place called Mawgan Porth which is just north of Newquay in Cornwall. It is famous in the area for having a safe beach with consistently good waves – perfect for those learning to surf and still challenging enough for those looking to master the waves.
We stay on a cracking little campsite called Rettorick Mill and you get the option to camp or to stay in a ‘chalet bungalow’ (extra charge) – the facilities are fairly basic, but there is a bar and we can bbq and just chill right out.
AND on this particular bank holiday weekend - the campsite is playing host to a fantastic boutique festival called Chill at the Mill
You can join us in the h.o.f.n.a.r minibus from London or make your own way down there (fly to Newquay or drive) – if you make your own way, take £50 off the prices quoted.
…With bonfires, live music, barbecues, surfing and gallons of Cheddar Valley cider – these are set to be the BEST surfing weekends of the year!!
Friday: 6pm Climb aboard the h.o.f.n.a.r minibus at Hammersmith for the 5.5hr drive down to Mawgan Porth.
Saturday: Breakfast cooked up by your h.o.f.n.a.r rep before joining the gang from Kingsurf for your intro to surfing! Spend the afternoon honing your skills, chilling by the beach OR grab your helmet and let’s go coasteering! Dinner could be either a bbq at the campsite, local fish n’ chips from the local chippy or we could head over to Jamie Oliver’s celebrated ‘Fifteen’ restaurant. A few drinks back at the campsite….? or should we head into Newquay…?
Sunday: After another cracking true English fry up we head back to the water and we’ll definitely stand up on that board today…definitely? Leave in the afternoon to be back in London for 10 pm ish
For our three day trips we stay an extra night and head back on the Monday evening… Do look out for our ‘special trips’… Chill at the Mill festival, Stonehenge sightseeing, Boardmasters festival….
